Trim fell off

I have a 2015 Sunseeker 2400R. On the way back from the lake the top trim on the side slide fell down into my grandkids laps. Luckily it landed nail side up. It was held on by about 10 pin nails. I tried reinstalling it with squarehead finish screws but the fiberboard kind of exploded around the screw head leaving a very ugly mark. I ordered some plastic screw covers from Amazon and used 1-1/2 drywall screws and that solved the problem. I went ahead and screwed the side trim and all the trim on the rear slide too. I spaced out the screws evenly. Looked good when finished.

Most of the trim used in the RV industry is just put on with pin nails or staples. Your fix sounds like it worked fine good info for others.
