Trim piece above cab doors
See attached pic. This trim piece constantly comes out. I have pushed it back in the channel many times. It comes back out the next time I hit the road. Does anyone know if it aesthetic or functional (I.e., keeps water out)? I can live with it if its for looks but don't want water to be getting in.

It is pulled too tight, it needs to be slid either up or down which no doubt will leave a gap. You might be able to find some more at the rv dealer and cut a longer pc.

Sonething different, but why is there no cab to wall gasket on yours? I know this wasn't what you were taking a picture of but I noticed yours is different then mine.

No idea. Is there supposed to be one? I recall you had a forester. This is a Sunseeker. Maybe that's only on the forester perhaps. Anyone with a Sunseeker have one?

We switched the design of that cab transition. We started using an automotive D-seal so we had a cleaner look on the outside.

bclemens -
Not to keep at this but...
The first picture below is mine. I don't see a seal. Are you saying there is a redesigned hidden seal (for a cleaner look).
The second pic below is from my local Sunseeker dealer today. 2 of the 3 units on their lot had this seal. The other unit had nothing like mine.
Just want to make sure mine has a seal of some sort even if its hidden.
Thanks

That's the type if seal I was speaking off, all the Foresters and Sunseekers I've seen have that type of seal. I prefer that seal as its visible, easy to inspect, and easy to verify as intact, JMHO.

My '13 has the more hidden d-seal. Forester and sunseeker identical in that aspect, at least what I saw at the factory a few months back. I can assure you, either way its done its sealed. Brian may can shed more light on it. That trim piece coming loose on yours can be bought at most any RV place or at camping world. Can't remember proper name for it. Over time, they can draw up a little. Same trim cover you see on tons of towables. I'd just pull it out and replace with new. Very cheap for a whole role.

I believe the trim piece shrinks. As it is fastened at the ends, it pulls out of the corner to compensate for its shrunken shorter length. I released one of the ends (took the screw out), re-inserted the trim into the corner and pushed the trim material towards the corner (to ensure some extra length). I then re-fastened the end. Stayed in place after that.

John is correct. Instead of a vinyl seal on the outside, we use an automotive rubber seal in between the wall and the chassis.
