Upgrade from TT to Class C?

Just got back from a road trip to NASCAR in Bristol in my buddy's motorhome. I had been toying with the idea of switching from our Rockwood TT to a Class C. While at the track campground, met a nice couple from NC that had EXACTLY what I was looking for....Sunseeker LE 2850SLE. Storage is a necessity for me and the 2850 has plenty; like the layout too. A big thanks to them for giving me a tour! Now to just convince my DW.....

We swapped our TT for a Class C last year. The wife and kids love it!!
The biggest difference is that they can get up and use the bathroom whenever.
I know, who care but it keeps me from pulling over every hour.
There are tradeoffs to going to a C but we definitely prefer the C over the TT.
Good luck.

LOL. We just upgraded from a class C to a TT.

Got tired of breaking camp to go to dinner, etc or bringing along another vehicle for that.

We went from a tt to a class C (actually a B+) for medical reasons. We love the rig, but it's not for everyone.

The one thing I'd caution you to check would be the cargo carrying capacity of a C (which includes passengers). Many of them have limited carrying capacity. We don't tow because we're basically a large 25' van capable of going most places. However, we have friends with a large C that tow and that comes with challenges.

Unless you will be staying in "camp" the entire time, you pretty much need a towable with your class C.. With a MH you have an additional engine to smog and keep serviced; an additional set of vehicle tools, etc. Our class C engine was difficult to service and repair because of difficult engine access. It also lacked the power necessary to comfortably tow another vehicle. We went from the class C to a Class A and back to a TT.

Upgrade from TT to Class C?

We started with TT then a 5th wheel and finally a class C. It really depends on your camping style. If you do mostly local trips a towable is best. But if you like to travel a MH is the better option. We did both for years, local was always pretty easy, anything more than 3 hours was a hassle, especially with kids. We also go to Disney.

For long distance trips we rent a car when we arrive. It is simple and for the cost the best option.

Back in 2012 we upgraded to a Class A 34FT from a 27 ft TT. We have done one major trip to Alaska and it was a breeze. When Covid is history we are going to New England and Nova Scotia and then out west to Colorado, Oregon etc. Being retired, its easy to do multiple week trips and the Class A makes it so easy.
