Using the Jensen VX7020A for outside speakers.

I asked about a mystery switch in our 2016 Forester 2861DS and was told it operated the outside speakers but we just can't get these speakers to work, so I'm posting the photos and the Model information for our Jensen in-dash radio and maybe someone here has the exact set up that can guide me on how to get these speakers working. Everyone has been wonderful at helping, but I do have some conflicting information regarding the outside speakers. Some say you use the in coach entertainment system to turn on the speakers but we do not have the extra entertainment system, only the in-dash Jensen.

We have the in-dash Jensen VX7020A and the mystery switch. So how do we use this Jensen in-dash radio along with this switch to set up the outside speakers so they actually work??

Note: The photos posted sideways, but if you click on them, I believe they appear correctly.

Nope, they're sideways. Sorry about that.

Also, what does the red button do that's on the dash just under the Jensen?

Here are the directions direct from that manual.

If you can get into the EQ settings fade to the rear speakers and see if that works.

Fade-Balance
Balance-Touch the FAD-BAL icon on the left side of the equalizer screen to display the balance/fader screen.

Fade-Balance Adjustment Screen
Balance - This feature is used to balance the audio output levels between the
left and right side of the vehicle. Touch the t or u icons to change the balance
control settings -20 (Left) to +20 (Right). The setting can also be changed by
touching screen within the grid to move the sphere.

Fader - This feature is used to fade the audio output levels between the front and rear of the vehicle. Touch the p or q icons to change the fade control settings -20 (Rear) to +20 (Front). The setting can also be changed by
touching screen within the grid to move the sphere.

We have the same setup in our unit. I like what HopHed said. Also turn up your radio and have someone go outside while you are flipping the switch by the fantastic fan control to listen for sound on the outside speakers . Ours work great.
