Duckogram, what filter have you been using for your whole home system?

Are you familiar with the Pentek CFB-PB10 (the filter I use) or the Pentek FloPlus-10 filters?

I use Aqua-Flow Polyproplene spun blown gradient filters.
Initial filtration, 5 micron, comes after aeration to remove hydrogen sulfide. Next is a high capacity softener followed by final filtration at 1 micron. Then the water is sterilized through a 12 gpm UV filter. Then the water we drink is filtered again through another in house filter. The only thing I do not filter out is the naturally occurring tannin so the water has a tint to it. If I did filter that out, it would be surgical quality.

Yes, I am familiar with Pentek products and they are good. I think that is what I bought to replace the waterpur “stuff”.
Ducky

Edit: Pentek EP-10

Wow! So would you use the one in my link at the start of this topic from Amazon? It says it's NSF certified. Glad we aren't consuming any of this and using bottled water.

Most Home Depots in Canuckistan sell compatible filters.

I would not use the filter in your Amazon link. CFS, the company listed as the manufacturer is only a distribitor and once again, a business run out of a residence. This one in Greenville NC. As for the NSF certification, it really makes a difference as to exactly what is certified. In this case, it is only the materials used and that list was submitted by the manufacturer with no oversight.

Follow this link to see what you are buying:

So how about a list of full 10" filters certified to 5 microns available here in the USA.

I understand the question but it has limited context. So to get where I think you want to go, you have to decide what you want the filter to eliminate/reduce and what type of certification you want. (NSF, WQA etc.)

Even the filters I use in my home are only certified for materials and come from
a foreign country ( Canuckistan )

Just for clarity, these 10x2.5 filters are not going to get you to a point of full confidence.

For comparison, the Camco in line is a 100 micron granular carbon unit.

Take a look at clearsourcerv and hydrolife offerings.

For safe water take a look at the 12v Top-Aqua UV.

Correction to an earlier post. I though I bought the Pentek EP10 replacement filters. I checked today and found that I have the GE FXWTC filters.

Wow! you must be a full timer. Mine didn't look half that bad after 18 months of occasional camping.

Not quite full time but weve been out allot this year. 2 months straight out in the Southwest with allot of different water sources. That was a filter I picked up at home Home Depot. We were satisfied with it.
