Water ingress

2015 Sunseeker 2800 GTS motor home. Rain water is getting into the horizontal aluminum frame tube top right and has ruined the over-cab cabinets.

I have removed all cabinets and frame-work to bare cap. Water is comming out of the square aluminum tube running the length of the rv (front to back). I've removed and sealed the awing backets..to no avail..still leaks. Any suggestions?

this info came from our Production team. gives you a few places to check. I hope this helps.

"It could be coming from the awning speaker wire drops, through the roof.

The awning itself should be mounted below the two horizontal tubes in the sidewall, which is probably why them removing it and resealing it didnít do anything, and why Iím thinking itís more than likely coming from the roof above. Likely a leak around the radius metal.

Could also be from a gutter rail screw holeÖ

Have him check the roof for seal voids."

Water ingress

Thank you for your response. using a flashlight and a mirror I can see something protuding into that tube at the approximate location of the awing bracket. It appears to have a red cap over it. I will check the items you suggested.

Is that square tube open on both ends (back & front). When the coach is parked with the front higher the water does not enter the front cap. I thought we had the leak stopped...when I parked it in it's parking spot the rear is higher than the spot we did the repairs...it leaked again.

My vote is one or more gutter rail screws. I classify this as an upper sidewall leak. When water drips from the screws it finds paths down

On my 2006 31' Sunseeker the screws are every 5" and there's about 35 on each side. They come loose. Take them all out, replace the corroded ones, put them back in with a good sealant (I use proflex RV) and snug them up - don't over tighten. The sealant should squirt out enough to seal the hole.

My screws are under the vinly insert trim hidden from inspection

You can reuse the insert trim or just replace it you'll find it on Amazon

Good hunting

Smile Water ingress

Several suggested water getting in thru the gutter rail screws. I removed the screw cover to disccover several screws missing, numerous screws striped or loose. We removed all screws and replaced with the next larger size wrapped with buytl brfore inserting. Did a water test with no apparent leak.

After a heavy evening rain it is still dry.

Thank you to all.
