Shower dribbles

It's my understanding that by having it dribble out the temp remains constant. I replaced mine with home type heads and faucets and if I turn it off and then back on the water is stone cold for some reason.
My $.02

The dribble when the shower head is off is intentional by design to try to keep the temperature constant, to lessen the chance of a too cold or too hot blast when you switch the water back on. It's not 100% effective and in my opinion it wastes some precious water when you are boondocking with a limited water supply.

In my experience, most shower heads labeled as RV will dribble when employing the cutoff for reasons described above. Most residential type shower heads seem to cutoff completely if they have such an option.

4X yes the dribble is intentional.

Not all shower heads are designed to 100% stop water, a little bit is ok. It can be beneficial by not having to wait for hot wtr to return.

I purchased a Dura-Faucet shower head with hose. Actually happy with it but states on the package " water saving trickle shutoff ". I understand the trickle principle to maintain mixed water temp, this one is minimal though. I tried once to add a total shutoff but it restricted the flow too much so I removed it. I'd use more water in a restricted state than what I would with trickle shutoff.

I have been very happy with this shower head. The one I received does completely turn off, but as mentioned below sometimes the water is cold when you start the flow back up.
