What grease for the zirks?
Does it matter what grease you use on the zirks on the front suspension? I have some grease in my grease gun that was meant for bearings on my tow dolly. I know there are all kinds of grease so I was wondering if I can use it on the front end of the Sunseeker or get another kind?

It's not a good idea to mix grease, either change it all or find out what is in there now, some grease do not play well together, you may end up doing more harm...

Don't know how you will determine the type of grease that came from factory.
When I contacted Ford regarding how many grease fittings were on my E450 they said that no information was available. So if they can't tell me if I have grease fittings I'm sure they can't tell what type of grease is in them.

purchase a good High Temperature Lithium wheel bearing grease in a tube and use it for everything.
Yes, there are cheap greases designed to be used on farm machinery sliding parts but it is mainly used to keep those parts from rusting. A good wheel bearing grease is designed not to break down under high heat and will work fine for for the entire vehicle..
Do you really think that dealerships keep a different kind of grease for each and every application? If they do, they are wasting money and lowering the profit margin.
Hope this is of some help.

Saw the following on another thread :

I just give em a quick squirt if needed at each oil change.
But, check your rig as some E-450 have plugs on the ball joints and no zerks. Seems there's a bit of difference as to whether or not there installed. Some have em and some don't.

Any brand name Multi Purpose Lithium Grease will work just fine. You don’t have high pressures or high temps on your chassis. The main point (after lubricating) is water resistance. Also noteworthy is that you dont want to “pop” the boots.

Does anyone know what grease Ford uses for their front ends? Would prefer to use what they used in the factory if possible, so as not to mix the grease. Thx, Ben

Ford uses Motorcraft XG-1-E1 Chassis Grease. You can get it from any Ford affiliated dealership and at the usual on-line sources.
