What holds this trim on?

Due to some cosmetic damage I am thinking of replacing the horizonai waistline molding (I really don't know the name of this stuff, or the part number). Is it like 3M double sided tape? Is it covering a seam somewhere on the perimeter? Easy or more work than worth it? Just leave it off? Anyone been there?

keeping up with the mod count, just put in two maxairplus fans.... bath and living room.

Do not know but interested in the outcome. So, following.
I have wondered about that trim also. Is there a crack. I think not, otherwise, the trim would not stop short of the wheel well. If there were lower sections they would be terribly weak.

One of the end caps broke in half, but I would like to upgrade the entire waistline trim. Caulk cracked, cr@p in the trim where slightly pulled away. I am betting there are no seams under the trim, but its a lot like the first guy to eat an egg, "is this a good idea?". If no first adopters are out there I will use the "hold my beer and watch this" method and move forward.

I remember reading somewhere here that trim covers the screws going through the wall in to the floor. All the screws it covers have sealant on them and the trim covers it up to make it look nice.

Maybe AP products has the trim and end caps. Based on what I see in the AP catalog, remove an end cap and pull the trim cover off of the track, exposing the screws. May need to score the caulk on the trim.

That's exactly what the trim covers. I've been through the Forest River factory and have pictures show a bare platform; finished walls; and their installation.

Use 3M VHB tape

We use this tape with commercial windows. Once it has time to set and cure, it is not coming off. Make sure to clean and then wipe down with alcohol. Good Luck.

Might try searching for it as RV rub rail and end cap. In the automotive world, this would be glued on. If you noticed, the rub rail stops short on the side of the RV which would indicate there is no seam, but merely a bump strip to prevent dings.

If it is "glued" on how is the best way to remove it?

Man I would think long and hard before removing all of that trim. Is there any way to repair the "cosmetic damage" to the existing trim? It may be a LOT easier. JMO.

I watched the video for removing glued-on trim. I was not impressed by his Goof Off. I've used automotive weatherstripping adhesive removers that I bought at an auto body supply house. They work much better than the Goof Off. One was named Acrysolvent. Another was by 3M but I don't remember the product name. They do not damage paint. Ask the supplier if it's okay for gel coat.
