What is in your tool box?

Can you share with us what is in your toolbox and why you have them? See mine attached.
  • Do you recommend anything else to carry that got you out of a jam?
  • Anything in my kit you think I won't need or I am duplicating?
I change my chassis oil and filter, maintain my Genset including changing the oil, fuel filter, and spark plug, and clean the spark arrestor although I don't use it as much after I installed solar. I can repair or replace small items around the house like a water pump, but not much around the engine. I didn't have to anyway. I carry an oil drain container and a couple of funnels for fluids. I do my best to seal any water entry although it seems impossible to keep water out 100% of the times. I keep watchful eyes on tire pressure and add as needed.

My rig is five years old with 29K miles on it and in good condition. I boondock a lot so I prefer to be ready instead of waiting forever on the man to repair things for me.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I carry about the same selection. I even have a set strapped behind the seat of my golf cart. Only thing I keep handy always is my trusty Leatherman super tool.

Duct Tape and WD40!
And way too much other tools. Three boxes in the truck. One with mechanic tools ( screw drivers, wrenches, sockets, hammer, etc... ) second tool box electrical stuff ( multi-meter, pliers, wire stripper, connectors, electric tape, spare wire, ..... ) The third box hardware ( rivets, rivet tool, screws, fasteners, sealant, sealant tape, etc.... )
Also an air compressor, 2 screw jacks, tire wrench, electric drill driver set. I am sure there is more back there. The tool collection has been growing for the last 40 years. Every few years I thin it down a bit, but then think, I might need that some day, and everything ends back in the truck.

I've got a.simple rv toolbox that Coleman sold about 15 years ago. About the same quality as what's sold for minor home repairs. I've added some Craftsman screw drivers and accumulated various light bulbs and fusses along the way. I do carry silicone spray.

To be honest, in 15 years of seasonal traveling I can probably count the number of times I've used on the road leas than 10 times - and then mostly the screw drivers. One time my over the air antenna wouldn't go up so I needed to realign the elevator and worm gears and lubricate.

The toolbox is mostly convenient while parked at home so I don't have to run into the garage for a screwdriver

I've used duct tape, rope, bungee cords once while on the road.

Keeping up with maintenance, testing all systems including shake down trips before long trips is most effective on not having to keep a bunch of tools in the rv

Unless FT or long long trips away from home carrying alot of heavy tools is unnecessary imo with a Forester or Sunseeker on the E-450 chassis.

Having said that, I have a tpms, metal bolt in valve stems, and carry a Viair air compressor.

No bottle jacks or breaker bars or impact drill drivers for tire changing - I'll wait for Roadside assistance, not wrenching my back or the like on a dually tire change.

I do carry 2 Cat ratcheting straps to rig under the spare tire and enough plastic leveling blocks to put under the spare tire to lower it somewhat gracefully without splitting my skull open or breaking my arm. I'll put the offending tire in my toad until I get home and deal with putting it back up using my motorcycle lift jack.

Just a bright orange tool box. I place it on the picnic table and someone walks by to help me out.

Useful tools. Not a show collection like you see on many garage walls.
