Your muffler bearing went bad because the kanibler pin holding it in the proper position was
#1 not installed properly, or
#2 was not installed at all.

Everyone one here in Western MD KNOWS you have to install a muffler bearing with the proper kanibler pin. Where's y'all's heads? 🤔

I Googled quite a bit and cannot find it.... I would safely say it isn't a trailer controller harness they look different.

Guys, guy's, it wasen't the muffler bearing that went bad, it was the muffler bearing SENSOR that went bad. I need the sensor to tell me in what direction the bearing is spinning so I can keep the horse power curve at its optimum performance level.
And, anyone who knows ANYTHING about Fords, knows that kanibler pins were only used on odd numbered years. My 2012, being even numbered, does not require a kanibler pin. As proof, my muffler bearing, after 5 years of use, is still in like new condition. Also as proof, DaGrinch, your rig looks to be an odd year production, thus the need for a kanibler pin.

(I wonder how long we can keep this up before the others realize we have noooo idea what we're talking about?)

You do realize, that as a newbie, your obligated to let us know the answer once you find out what the plug actually is.
And, if one of us actually guessed correctly, you owe that person one stolen mustard/relish/ketchup pack from any fast food restraunt of your choice.

I think I finally caught on, but I have never had one of the new fangled Fords so I don't know what a kanibler pin is. Silverado's don't have them, unless I'm mistaken.

I imagine it is for a option that yours does not have or yours has something else that doesn't use that plug. My truck has several unused connectors under the dash. I am sure they want to keep the number of wiring harnesses to a min so some inc things that are sometimes unused.

Or it's used to recharge the illudium Q-36 space modulator 😁

Never professed to know anything about Fords. Never owned one until now. Wouldn't have owned this one if I could have gotten the Sunseeker with a Chevy chassis off the lot. [emoji2] [emoji2]
My engineer son told me never to buy a Ford if I could help it. 😱

Cut it off and see what fails to keep working! That's a sure-fire way to find out.

I didn't realize how easy it was to change out the muffler bearings until I searched on you tube. I'll start doing it myself in the future. Dealership charges way too much.

We all have our opinions !!!
There must be a reason the E Series is the #1 used MH chassis in the world !!!
Maybe it is not true but I heard FR was going to stop using the Chev Chassis !!
That being said I wish ours was on a F Series !!!

Back to the newbies question,,, I wonder if he check with Pioneer to see if it had anything to do with his GPS ???

Well since I am an automotive electrical engineer I should know what it is.
Not familiar with what Ford uses but my guess is it is a CAN connector. (controller area network) It is part of the control module and sensor systems that controls vehicle operation. They have these service connectors so a technician can plug into them for system diagnostics.

My guess is there was a issue and he did not tape connector back in place after plugging into it. They are normally taped back on harness.

They can also be used to diagnosis muffler bearing failures.

goodguy & Wolverine 1945, maybe DW has him strapped in the drivers seat, in that case he can't be a loose nut nor can he get to the laptop to respond.
