We have a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk elite. It works great for us . Just watch the weight and high profile of your toad. I do notice the Jeep getting pushed by semi's as they pass some times and give a little tail wag. For me I think a full size truck would be more than I would want behind a class C . Not that it can't be done just think I would definitely add the larger sway bar and a good Trak bar . To help out.

Flat Towing an 88 Suzuki Samurai

Towing an 88 Suzuki Samurai behind my Prism. Don't even know it's behind there. But as soon as I as we get back from Alaska my 2022 Ford Maverick should be at the dealer ready for me to take delivery on. The hybrid is flat tow able! I am so excited.

We have a 2012 Jeep Liberty set up as a toad. It was an easy DIY and the baseplate sockets are the only things visible. It tows with the transfer case in neutral, transmission in park, and key out of the ignition. A battery tender was added to maintain the toad battery when connected to the TV. We have a 2019 extended cab Silverado that I wouldn't even consider towing with any class C. Ours is a 27' 2500TS on a Ford E450 chassis with a V-10.

We had a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. It was great as a toad, but we didn’t like it as a daily driver.

We needed a truck to haul farm equipment, so we traded the Jeep for a 2016 Ram 2500 mega cab that is towable. It is just under the max tow weight of our MH, which is 7500 lbs.

It tows fine on flat terrain. We have not tried mountains, and I would likely want to unhook and have my wife drive the truck separately if we were somewhere with a decent grade to it.

Due to the longer length (21 feet vs 14.5) and added weight (7460 lbs at the CAT scale vs 4500 - estimated), it is not as nice as towing the Jeep, but we needed the truck more than the Jeep.

With the Jeep, you didn’t know it was back there, and it would track right behind the MH on turns. The truck does not, and it is more like pulling a trailer, so you have to pay more attention to where the rear wheels are going to track when turning in or when pulling through pumps at a gas station. It isn’t bad - just not as nice and easy to tow as a smaller, lighter vehicle.

At some point we will probably find a smaller toad to have as a primary toad, but the Ram works for now.

I have a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox 1.5L FWD flat towed. Only problem, haven't figured out how to keep battery charged from MH.

See post 25. I use an RVIBrake towed battery charger TCB-12014 (no longer available) It was mounted very near the battery and positioned so the hood would close. It has a wire harness that connects to the 7-pin to 6-pin umbilical wire that feeds constant 12V from the MH to the 7-pin plug. That 12V feed only activates when the MH ignition is active. It was a pretty simple install. Our toad battery was fully charged after 4 days and 1,700 miles without having to start the toad. This is the comparable.

Just curious, I have a 2016 3010 DS and there is nowhere on the hitch that specifies the capacity. Where would I find the rating? Everything else that has a hitch that I own has a specification label. This one doesn't.

I have a 2016 3010DS, the hitch is rated for 7500lbs. The label is stuck on the hitch but has a habit of falling off (cheap glue).

Sprinter based Class C has less towing capability.

We tow a 2013 Honda FIT Sport with an automatic transmission as my wife doesn't drive a manual. We have the RVI towed charger to maintain the battery and a Roadmaster Invisibrake 8700. We start up the FIT and warm up the transmission, hook up the Roadmaster Falcon II tow bar, and place the vehicle in neutral and turn the engine off. After traveling about 250 miles we generally stop for a break and go and start the FIT and warm up the engine and transmission and shift forward and reverse to circulate the fluid, turn off the engine with transmission in neutral and get back on the road. Wish we had purchased the Honda CRV so we would have had better ground clearance for back road jaunts but this works for us. Later Honda's with continuous variable transmissions offering better fuel economy can't be flat towed like this.

We have a 300SS Lexington and pull a 16’ car hauler with a 2012 Ford Focus total weight of 4900 LBS with a Hitchweight drawbar with built in hitch weight guage.
Works awesome as only supposed to be 500 lb hitch weight.
Motorhome tows awesome and at least we can back up if needed.
Gets same fuel mileage pulling 5000 lbs or by itself.
F150 would obviously be town on all fours

Jeep Wrangler

We tow a Jeep Wrangler. Automatic transmission but an old fashioned manual transfer case. Bought the Jeep specifically because of this and it tows like a dream.
