wheel cover issue/2018 Sunseeker MBS2400

When washing rv, noticed wheel cover was somewhat loose, was able to pull off with no effort!! Noticed that the wheel cover and been rubbing on the extended valve and had almost sheared it off. Luckily was able to detect before some serious damage could occur out on the road. Check wheel covers to make sure they are not rubbing against the tire air valves!!

If one does a search on the topic of “Sprinter simulator”, many discussions come up about these covers being noisy or falling off. Apparently it’s a common problem.

We have lost one front and two rears - tire shop is going to put on 4 new ones in the spring when they rotate the tires, that are secured with machine screws or something = $249

Since losing my first one four years ago, I keep mine secured with zip ties and have not lost another one.

Use stainless steel zip ties not plastic ones.

Who and where are you having this work done? I've been looking for the same. Thanks!

Where can you purchase replacement rims?
Agreed with above; I’ve experienced noisy, loose rims, and stems getting stuck and twisted inside.
I once tried purchasing expensive stainless extended stems for Sprinters and was told they wouldn’t work on my Solera. Now I’m not so sure; maybe they were just lazy. I recent caught my local Tire Pros claiming in writing that they filled all my suv tires to 35 psi. Fortunately my car has a tire pressure monitor system and when I drove off I knew immediately that they overfilled the one tire they plugged and then failed to fill the others including one extremely low tire that I had repeatedly asked them to do.

You can buy replacements at your dealer or save a lot of money and go to Ebay. Here is an example listing on Ebay. I suspect the only thing that changes between brands is the decal in the center.

I reported that zip ties have worked for me for four years now. Sailski said to use stainless steel, not plastic.

I'll just add that I started with SS but when I drove to Alaska some of them still broke. This allowed the wheel cover to rotate and rub against my extended metal valve stem, causing a flat tire. Then I switched to plastic zip ties and haven't had a problem since. Of course, they get replaced every time I have the tires rotated.

Agree on plastic over stainless steel. I use “heavy duty UV resistant plastic zip ties. Tried the stainless steel ones - couldn’t get them as tight as I wanted, and they seemed to loosen further with use.

We replaced our first lost cap from Ebay = $100. Our local tire shop in Central Washington State is where we'll get the new caps in the spring.

Check. Out Summit Racing. I Threw away the FR wheel covers on my Forester and replaced them with bolt-ones from Summit. They are know for good quality.

Bolt on from Summit Racing? I just looked and saw Phoenix USA brand that have ovals instead of all round holes. How do they bolt on? On mine, there are two screws that ONLY hold the center round piece onto the wheel simulator body. The whole thing comes off together as one piece just like a hubcap. Could you please provide a brand and p/n?

My Forester has oval hand hole in the wheel. I would suggest calling them to see if they have something to fit yours. There is an adapter that screws onto the end of two of the lugs. The wheel cover then screws onto that.
