Winterizing questions

that I didn't find while searching.

1. I have an air hose connection that I could hook up to the city water connection to blow out the lines. Maybe a dumb question but can the antifreeze be drawn through the system with the water pump through the city water connection in a similar fashion by hooking a small section of garden hose and putting the other end in the antifreeze?

And if that's a foolish idea that won't work, then...

2. I have the set up that hooks to the water pump (suction side from what I've read) to pump in the antifreeze. Having no owner's manual, can someone please tell me which side of the pump is the suction side? I have a picture of the system, if needed.

This is on a 2012 3170DS

Thanks again!

If I'm following what you're describing...
1. No, I dont think you would be able to use the city water input for antifreeze unless you build something that pumps antifreeze into it.

2.The pumps I've dealt with all have a water filter / strainer on the input side. That's one way to tell without tracing the plumbing to where it goes...but it shouldn't be too difficult to follow the plumbing. Fresh water tank is connected to in. Out typically connects to blue pex after a short run. Good luck.

Shredder, Skip12, and Fonzie - Perfect! That is exactly what I needed to know.

Thanks!
