Area 51 is off of 93 on NV-375, west of Hiko.

Hey 93

We always take 93 south coming from Canada it is a nice break in the heavy traffic .you can stop in jackpot for a nice meal at the casino Wells you can get lots of fuel lunch coffee there is the history in Ely of the railroad that is interesting if you stop tha down closer to Vegas is tha pony express stop telling the history and depicting that getting closer to ash springs there is a pullout you can stop at and go to the alien shop At Area 51 it is a nice stop right by crystal springs .many don’t know about Crystal Springs and don’t know we’re to finit but it’s across the road from the pullout and you need to go over a fence to get there but the colours in the water are just marvleuos than continue down hey to Alamo for the cheapest fuel on that hwy ,you can turn at the Sinclair gas and go up the road to the rodeo grounds to stay with power and water or go to pharnageat lake camp sites which are nice and a hike around the lake if you catch it right a guy Fumo the Vegas observatory comes out to give a talk on the stars at night and you get to look thru his huge scope so don’t tell me there is nothing to do on that hey. There is more than plenty most people don’t take the time to stop and really find these things we love the drive

going down 93 is a good road now, the truck alternative is redone and a beautiful drive with places to boondock on the way. several towns to get fuel and water and some older RV camps north of Alamo NV. In Alamo you have the Sinclair Truck stop and general store with a Deli and a nice RV park by the river. your next stop would be Loves truck stop where 93 hits the the freeway about 80 miles east of Vegas. you will find Cathedral State Park along the way and Groom lake (area 51) turn off to Rachel NV. If you have a side x side make sure you catch the wild horse herds. Enjoy

Well, we made the trip home, in 2 1/2 days.
So glad I took the Wells to Vegas Highway 93 route.
As a wannabee geologist, the many mountains and rock formations were awesome.
We enjoyed the drive and the scenery.

It’s a 2 year-old video, but beyond the date, not much has changed.

The 30+ miles of highway south of Wikieup will beat a vehicle to death, as will that section of US-40 from the intersection of AZ-93 to Kingman is strewn with pieces of ruined tires, and the occasional vehicle part…but you already know that.
