Arizona State Parks

What can someone tell me about these Arizona state parks:
1. Lost Dutchman
2. Dead Horse Ranch
Is it nice camping? Are there any hints or tips for specific sites?
Any reply would be appreciated.
H.

Dead Horse Ranch Is a wonderful little park located in Cottonwood, AZ. We stayed there about four years ago, and loved it. Convenient to numerous historical sites such as Tuzigoot and Montezuma's Castle, as well as Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, and others.

We enjoyed the park, and the town.

We've stayed at Lost Dutchman a couple times and loved it. Beautiful park and well cared for. I swear, a camper no sooner leaves a spot than one of the camp hosts is there to rake and clean. Restrooms and showers are modern and clean. It was full both times we've been there (I understand it's the most popular Az state park), but sites are well separated so you'll have lots of privacy. We have stayed in site 45 (a pull thru) and site 27 (a back in). Of the 2 I liked 27 better. We have site 32 reserved for next March for 2 weeks, It's a pull thru with unobstructed mountain views, as in right out your camper door. I will tell you to reserve early and don't go without a reservation, although they do have an over flow area as nice as many parks, but no E/W. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have about the park or the area.

Good timing, You will have good weather and fun. Explore Tortilla Flats further down the road from the Lost Duchman S.P. While in the Cottonwood are there are some good restaurants in the old part of town, Nicks & the Tavern. There are plenty of things to do in both areas and don't be surprised if the campgrounds are is full of Canadians that time of the year.
