Between Reno and Winnemucca

Hi all,

I'll be traveling through Nevada on my way to the Boise area in Idaho from near Yosemite in CA. I'll need to break that leg of the trip in two. I'll be on 80.

Does anybody here have a recommendation a place to pull off and spend the night? Reno is too far from my destination and Winnemucca is too close. I'll be traveling in a Class C with a TOAD.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks

I think the only place would be in Fernley. I believe there is an rv park called the Desert Rose that is supposed to be pretty descent. I personally have never been to the park.

Thanks, I'll check that out. There really isn't much else out there.

There really isn't much out there. Exactly. Pull off anywhere and boondock when you get tired. Rye Patch Reservoir would be a good place.

Upon further review Desert Rose is off I 80 a bit so maybe the Best Western Inn and RV Park would be better. Itís funny I have driven past it a hundred times and didnít realize an rv park was there. It is next door to the Fernley Walmart on the east side of town just south of the interstate.

Didnít think of Rye Patch. I donít think they have any utilities but for overnight shouldnít be a problem. Itís pretty close to the interstate.

Desert Rose RV Park=YES

We stay at Desert Rose ever time we drive cross country. It's a great overnight with pull throughs so we don't have to unhook the car, full hook ups and immaculate bathrooms. Well worth the $ and comfort.

We've camped at Desert Rose in Fernley. Yes it is off the I80 route a little, but is very clean, peaceful, and nice sites. There are places between there and I80 to grab food/fuel when you are pulling in or out.

Try Lovelock. Lazy K RV Park or Candy Beach Campground on the north end of town. Not too far and not too close - just right!

Lovelock is part way across. I have a great dog that came from Lovelock.
I would rather spend the night in the middle of nowhere than in the that town.

You can't leave us wondering. Tell us why.

Lovelock is small town that has always struggled economically. There is not much to it. I would much rather find a new quiet place on BLM land than sleep next to an Interstate and a bunch of trucks.
