I have a client in Bishop, CA and have been out there many times. The town is a bit small and not really much going on. However, there is a BEAUTIFUL camground (not sure about hook-ups) in the hills very close to Bishop. There is a lake up there (elv. about 10,000ft) with great fishing and trails that never end. I drove up there in a car once and it's quite a climb up the road to the grounds. I believe the lake is called South Lake and the highway out of Bishop is 168. I would give it a look. I know I liked the area.

***CORRECTION*** The name of the lake I was thinking of was Sabrina Lake... Close to South Lake but not one I have been to.

Sure thing! If you do end up going there I would love to hear about your experience and how you liked it. I have been wanting to camp out there for about 2-3 years. Just bought a 2011 Toy Hauler last week and that's a place that came to mind. Good luck!

Bishop RV Parks

We just spent a night in Bishop May 2nd, stayed at the Highlands RV park. It is located right on 395, just north of town, near a small shopping center. It is right near a creek, and is a nice little camp, bathrooms and showers are clean, pull throughs, quite. About average at $40 per night. Easy access, great location next to the Eastern Sierras make it a pretty good stopover.

I second the Highlands. For an overnight stay without hookups, the Indian Casino just past the Highlands is cheap.
