Boise to Utah

Traveling from Boise ID, to Provo UT. When I look on goggle maps it shows me two different ways I can go. The first and shortest route takes me on Hwy 84 from Boise to Hwy 15 in Utah, this way is about 6 hours. The second route is highways 84,20,26 and 15, which is about 1 1/2 hours longer than the first route. I am looking at takin the 84 to 15. who has traveled this Hwy and is it a lot hills and what about services. Driving the truck but not towing anything. truck
