Bonita Canyon/Wilcox AZ

Has anyone been to this park. Its about 3 hours from me and I am told has some of the best hiking and rock pillar formations in AZ. The campground is very small (26 sites) and most are under 20 ft.so really best for truck campers and tents. I made the reservation and we are going..mainly interested in the hiking and views. Just curious for more info

Yep that's a tight little campground. It's in the Chirichahua National Monument. I've never stayed there but I have boondocked up Pinery Canyon.

when you turn of Hwy186 heading up to the Monument take the right hand turn and that will take you up Pinery Canyon road. It can be rough and washboard but you will see several primitive sites down towards the creek.

FYI: The tallest peak in the Chirichauha mountains is Fly's peak named after C.S. Fly a distant cousin of mine.

Keep in mind there are no services in this area. The closest food and gas are in Willcox.
