Homewood/Tahoe

Hi, new to the form but wanted to know if anyone had any good recommendations for pull thru or back in RV campgrounds near Homewood/Tahoe (maybe Truckee?) Calif. in summertime? Pulling 36' Sabre 5th wheel. Thanks

Camp Richardson would be your best bet. Its a private campground on Forest Service land. However, to get there, you would not want to go by emerald bay since the hairpin turns would be tough considering how long you are.

Another option may be Fallen leaf lake campground but you will have to check the length requirements. It is a state park.

Ah, Homewood! My favorite Tahoe ski resort. Oh for the days it was family-owned.[emoji21]

You could check Sugar Pine Point State Park just about 4 miles south of Homewood. I think they have spots that big.

Yes forgot about that park. That is closer to Homewood than the ones I mentioned.

Thanks so much for the info. At first glance it appears our 36' 5th wheel is too large, no dogs allowed or sites are not available for this August. But I will keep checking. Thanks again

The state sites only reserve 6 months in advance.
