I drove from Paria River Ranch to Moab a couple of years ago (May 2017) and we went that route. I know we would have gotten fuel along the way (42' fifth wheel + 22' truck) but honestly I don't remember much about the drive, so it must have been uneventful.

What part of Arizona?

There should be gas along the way. Bluff, Blanding, Chinle, Holbrook, etc...

I've driven it a few times and never worried about fuel. (diesel)

As long as your start is at or north of Eagar should be fine.

it's a fine road and there are gas stops along the way. perhaps a few miles between them but they are there. lots to see (or not see) depending on your point of view.
