To get back to Moab!!

YES! Of all of the places we've been, Moab was the unsung and unknown hero. I didn't know anything about it and didn't have it on my original plan and now I can't wait to get back.

We go every year 3-6 times per. 1st time is Memorial weekend. Can't wait!!

It is really pretty there as well. Mountains and desert all in one place. The La Sal's and a really nice full moon rising is just phenomenal!

BTW we always stay at the Archview because we can ride the RZR's right out of the campground. Beautiful view in the evenings!!

Have read about Moab and been wanting to stop, but always too busy trying to get everything in with limited time. DW and I are both retired now and will probably make it there this year or next.

Campground recommendations? Sites to be sure to see?

Been through there many times. I have went through Arches NM but never any back trails. The drive on hwy 128 is real neat and I would like to boondock out there someday. And Archview RV park looks interesting also.

If you can dry camp, there are stunning campgrounds along the river. I drove past them a few times and was extremely jealous each time.

As for things to see- you've got Arches NP which can take up as much time as you want. My kids (and I) loved going on a fossil trail and seeing real fossils in the rocks. Lots of offroading- I wanted to rent a UTV but was concerned for my wife's back pain which had flared up.

Awesome shots F5!!

Yes a very beautiful place that should be witnessed by all. You really need to be there as the pictures really do not do it justice and the vast surrounding area that is southern Utah.

The other RV parks in town are good as well, I just prefer the direct access for the UTV's as we ride 4 of them. I also think that the Archview is the best view for campgrounds with hookups. There is an extreme amount of dry/free camping in and around the Moab area as well.

No boondocking along hwy 128 from Dewey Bridge into town; only camping allowed is in BLM campgrounds and no hookups.

Nice photo of Tower Arch, what did you drive to get to it; or did you do the hike off of Salt Valley Road?

I started with a 2003. Then moved a Hummer H3, then moved to Moab....

When it's all said and done, I prefer my RZR XP 1000 for as much of it as possible, but since they will not let that in the park...

My problem is I have a family full of drivers not riders that's why we have 4 RZR's!

Yea, the park sure does not like ATVs/UTVs that's for sure. I have a close friend who is a LE ranger in Arches and he catches them all the time out near Tower and Eye of the Whale arches since you can access both sites without entering the park via the paved road.

I prefer that route into the park anyways! I normally get my pass in the afternoon and then drive in from Archview the next morning via BLM378. Less traffic!

I LOVE Moab! Camped twice at Dead Horse Point in the late 1970's. No RV back then.

This was on the list when I was jeepin'.. Now it is still on the last as long as it is truck accessible.
