Jellystone Estes Park, CO
Has any one here been to Jellystone Estes Park, CO? My family of 5 and another family of 6 are headed there in August for a week. Looking for any additional feedback from forum members. I tried to search but did not find threads already talking about this. If I missed it, I appologize for the duplication. Or if someone wants to point me in the right direction for an already posted thread.

Looking for some additional ideas for campgrounds in Colorado for families with children? We were going to Jellystone at Estes Park, but now with our soon to be picked up new 356QB, they are telling us that we are too long! The Forest River site says we are 42'3". Jellystone says they can only accommodate max 40'. Any ideas? Other threads I should check out? We have 2 families, 4 adults & 7 children oldest being 10 and youngest is 5. Thanks for the help! We pick up or camper Saturday!

We stayed at ELK Meadows Lodge and RV park, sties are gravel and roads are gravel. But you can fit a long trailer in this park plus they have pull thru full hook-up sites. Which I tend to like. This way the DW is happy because she does not have to worry about filling up the holding tanks when she takes a shower.
They do have a heated swimming pool and playground for kids. Here is a link to their website.

We also stay at Elk Meadows with our Charleston (which is slightly less than 44') and our Jeep Commander. We have never had an issue with space. We have also stayed at Spruce Lake which is also in between town and the NP. Spruce Lake seems more congested with tighter spaces. However, they have a fishing lake that is attractive for some.

We stayed at a private campground as you drive out of Loveland. I think it was Riverbend Campground. It was very nice. Right on the Big Thompson river and some sites had decks along the river with chairs and tables. Did not want to pull the TT up to Estes.

We stayed at Mary's Lake at Estes. Nice campground area and less costly also.

Stayed at Spruce Lake in Estes Park...my review is the first one under that park at the link below and you can read about lots of other places there. RockyMtn National Park is spectacular... and the town is great too though QUITE crowded in the Summer.

I am pasting links to some of our favorite spots.
Golden Gate Canyon State Park is nice. Has electrical snf showers too.

We also like Turquoise Lake. Just west of Leadville. However no Hookups. Campsite Map V2 - MOLLY BROWN, CO - Recreation.gov.
We also like Cascade which is near Buena Vista. Again no hook ups but there is a really nice Hot springs near by called Mt. Princeton Hot springs.

For the people who have been to Jellystone at Estes Park, is there really a restriction of of 40' of length? We just purchased our Salem Hemisphere 356QB and FR says this is 42'3" and Jellystone says only up to 40'.....
Thoughts? Suggestions?.....

X4 for elk meadow. We stay there at least twicea season. Plenty of room for longer rigs. We stopped staying at the jellystone for the same reason. Our new rig is 35'.

I would say yes, especially directly behind the office in the older section. It's a steep climb to the top, make the loop and come back down. The NW loop is out of the trees and might fit a longer unit.

^x2. It is a very steep road up the hill with tight turns. Our old 24' tt worked fine. Did see some short 5vers up there but they were few.

X2 on Mary's Lake. We've stayed there many times when it was a private C/G. It fell on hard times and was taken over by the county a some years ago. (It became a local hangout and seemed to have a reputation for noise and drunken yahoos.)
Now the City (Estes Park) owns it and has made much needed improvements. Nice new bathhouses! Not a top-tier C/G but it was very nice last year and we plan to return this coming August.
Advice for any C/G in Estes Park - if you ain't there - close your awning. (Tie-downs might not cut it.) If you don't the winds will do a number on it. Seen a couple torn off the track. (Also seen a number of tents doing the tumbleweed shuffle across the CC.)
