Lake City Colorado

We are planning a trip to Lake City Colorado this summer and would like some suggestions for campgrounds. Would like full hook ups if possible. Would appreciate any ideas.

You don't have a lot of choices in Lake City. We were planning to stay at Woodlake Park RV Resort a year ago, but my wife got sick and we cancelled. We have stayed in Lake City several times and far and away the most scenic cg is Wupperman on Lake San Cristobal. But it is a Forest Service cg, so has no hookups.

Went to lake City last July for the first time, we stayed at Castle Lakes RV Park, Campground & Cabins. Would recommend, stayed in site 33 or close to that. Like that area of the campground better, more trees and a view.

Forgot to mention above.... bring much of what you plan to consume (food & beverages) as stocking up in Lake City is somewhat limited.

True, but there are several good restaurants and a small grocery. So, the locals don't have to drive all the way to Gunnison in winter to pick up staples like milk, eggs, sugar, etc.

BTW, you will need lots of sugar to feed the hundreds of hummingbirds. But you should be fine for a week with what your refrigerator will hold. If you need to stock up before you arrive and depending on your direction, there are City Markets and Walmarts with groceries in Alamosa, Gunnison, and Montrose.
