Mid May Yellowstone
The RV park inside yellowstone is closed, we will be there 6 days, any recommendations for rv parks? It is our first trip out that way, we have a 30 ft TT and a dog, so it needs to accomodate both those things .
Thanks for any help you can give

Check West Yellowstone KOA, I think it opens mid May. We stayed there. Nice park and just minutes from west gate to the NP.
You did not mention from which direction you were arriving?

HA! Sorry, NC to Yellowstone, probably going through Mount Rushmore on the way, and maybe come home through Grand Teton

Yep, coming the wrong way for the west entrance. I would suggest you download the free app called rvparky or get allstays camp and RV app. These will show you all the campgrounds wherever you are traveling.
I prefer allstays, it is not free. $10 one time I think. But it is invaluable when you are going somewhere and wonder what is available. Rvparky is about the same but not as detailed in some instances. Good luck, safe travel...
PS.. we came the other way this past early summer... from FL to AZ, then north to GrandCanyon, then north to all NPs in Itah (beautiful) then to Grand Tetons to YS then north to Glacier NP then East to Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower etc..
To plan that trip I use rvtripwizard.com which I highly recommend. Not free.

I just looked, their website says they open May 17 but still not good for you.

Also, are you using the app on a tablet?

I was just curious, and found these near the East entrance in Cody.
https://www.greencreekinn.com/rv-park
https://www.yellowstonevalleyinn.com/rv-park/
They seem to open around the first of May, so may work out for your timeline. But definitely call asap, as we have found reservations around Yellowstone tend to fill up fast, sometimes a year ahead of time.

The KOA in Cody is about an hour east of the park and looks like it's open on May 1st.

I stay at the Madison Arm Resort during July and August. The turn off is about 6 miles east of West Yellowstone. The negative is a 5 mile gravel fire road and I know people go in June, but not sure about May.

We’ll be there around the same time. We’ll be heading in from the south. I looked at all the options and ended up at colter bay rv resort. Full hook ups and expensive . Wasn’t my first choice but that time of year options are very limited.
Rex Hale is on the Eastside, it was open yet for my dates but maybe for yours? Good luck!

I found that one last night too. I feel the same, it expensive but take what we can get seems close to Yellowstone and grand Teton. So there’s that

Look at Mountain View Resort & RV, not fancy, but full hookups, available, reasonable price, good reviews and a lovely lady I talked to on the phone. It might be an option.
