Rent Class C near San Diego
Sorry if this is in the wrong area. I’m not sure how to post in this forum. I’m looking for places to rent a class c rv near San Jose ca. I plan to travel to the national parks in ca with my sister and her two teenage sons. I have my own rv but I live in the Midwest so it would be a long haul to drive to California. Any tips or ideas would be most appreciated

this forum is mostly for those of us who OWN an rv, not rent one... why in the world would you not just USE the one you already own?? Believe me, once you see the price and restrictions for renting any type of rv, your own RV will look really good!

True, the Midwest is not next door, but getting your stuff into a rental is not very attractive. You'll add an extra 2 days going and returning. Consider it a part of the trip. But back to your question. These folks rent a lot of RV's. https://www.elmonterv.com/

Thank you for your response. I’m actually looking at all possibilities since my mileage on my 2015 coachmen prism only gets about 11 mpg and it’s a diesel and that’s with a Mercedes engine.

WoW - we have a 2016 Choachmen Prism with the diesel and get 14-15 towing and 16+ not towing, depending on terrain and wind.
How fast do you drive and what are your tire pressures?

I usually drive 60 to 65. Not sure what the problem is. It’s only got about 12,000 miles. I had a 2006 Winnebago view with same layout and it got 19 miles to the gallon with about 100,000 miles on it. Not sure at the moment re tire pressure since I usually have a tire guy check it.

I just did a quick Google search and see there are several RV rental places in San Diego. Have you searched and tried calling any?

I drive about 62 - the worst I ever got was in the low 12's and that was climbing up to 9000ft elev towing the car with a couple inches of snow on the road.
To get back on topic, I looked up a class C rental in San Diego for 1 week in mid July - it was close to $3k or more depending on how big you go.

Google search near them. There are rentals. And around here lots of folks renting their motor home on CragisList. I suppose that is to help with the Payment when they realize that with a small down payment they are upsidedown and stuck with the big RV payment for a toy that work and life prevents some folks from using enough. Cruise America rental was a good option when we were briefly between RV's back in 2016 and I had all I needed but the 100 gal water supplies that Toy Haulers have spoiled me to expect. I think it hit me about $200 a day. Not near as nice as our own, but saves alot of Gas from Mid West to the Real WEST

San Diego or San Jose? Your topic lists one location, the message lists the other. As recommended above El Monte rents a lot. Also Cruise America.
