Replacing black water waste valve on 2010 georgetown 330ts

I am in New Mexico with a leaky waste water valve. Need to replace valve. Camping World quoted me two hours to fix it. Does anyone have any experience with problem?

First are you able to empty the tank?

The valves are bolt in place, if you are able to empty it the part are available almost anywhere (RV supply store) Valtera has the part for replacement.

The second option there is a twist on valve that can be applied and get you home.

if you are somewhat knowledgable and handy with tools its really not a bad job at all .
biggest problem is dealing with the smell and trash that potentially comes out when removing.
theres only a few screws that holds it all together . you have to be very careful when reinstalling new valve that the oring does not move out of the recess .
grease or vaseline works well to hold it .

If your tank is empty and flushed with clean water it is a very easy job that would take at the most one half hour. I am sure you carry the basic tools for this easy job. If they tell you it is a 2 hours job I have serious dought about this long charge of 2 hours? Unscrew the 4 bolts. slide the old valve out and reverse the procedure for installation. Good luck

The 2 hour charge is most likely including dumping and a good flush of the black water system. They do not want any surprises when they start to replace the valve.

I replaced one in my last camper, it was a 20 minute job. As long as you do a good job of flushing the tank it is not a big deal.
