road conditions KY to CA

We are in Lexington, KY until Monday when we leave for San Jose, CA. Everything says to go through southern IN and MO then drop down into OKto pick up 40. Last time I ran that way I remember it being pretty rough.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I-75 south from Cincinnati to I-40 west in TN was clear in April... the road was good to Nashville then to Memphis where I stopped...

Bluegrass Parkway to I-65 south to I-40 is also good although there was some construction going northbound on I-65 when I came back... not sure about the south bound lanes...

Usually the northern routes as you have described are the tougher roads...

good luck

Just ran I44 and I40 from St. Louis to Amarillo last week. I found no big problems or nasty construction. Just the usual interstate mix of smooth, noisy and bumpy depending on where you are at the moment. The bumpy areas were irritating but not terrible, I never had to slow down because of them.

When we drove I-40 from CA through AZ on route to NY in July, I have to say that the AZ road was the worst. Lots of potholes. I thought the motorhome was going to shake loose!
