When we were there in June 15-17, 2019 (West Glacier) the Road to the Sun was only open up to Avalanche Creek. We drove around the south of Glacier NP to East Glacier (St. Marys) on June 18th and spent the June 18-20, exploring East Glacier, able to drive up as far as Jackson Glacier Overlook. We were told that up in the high mountains (Logan Pass) they had over 100 foot of snow in 2019.

They got the entire Road to the Sun fully open on June 22nd in 2019 .... two days after we left East Glacier to head east on our trip

I guess they got lot of snow again this past winter.

They currently have 40 feet of snow and some rocks to clean up. You can find it under the 'Plow Status' on the current conditions at the website.
Plow Status
Road crews typically work Monday through Friday between 6 am and 4 pm MDT. When crews are delayed at higher elevations, they are typically found at lower elevations clearing rocks, working on guard rails, etc.

The West Side crew is working on the Big Drift which is about 40 ft deep. They are also working on guard rail installation and rock clean up.

The East Side crew made it to the base of the Big Drift. They are also working on guard rail installation and rock clean up.

Plow crew progress points are available on the map above.

If I remember right, there was about a 2'+ dump of snow a couple of weeks ago and that made for a few avalanches and some unsafe conditions that delayed their access.
