Route around El Paso and mountain

This is an easy route around El Paso that bypasses downtown without having to climb over the mountain. Watch the transion from 3255 to loop 375, it can be a bit confusing.

Yep, thats a good bypass route. I prefer to take the 601 now that they cleaned that section up so nicely. Avoids the stoplights around the 54/375 intersection.

What/where is the 601? That intersection is confusing.

The 601 was pretty much in the middle of your map. It goes from the 375 to the 54 alongside Fort Bliss (runs east/west). Official name is TX-601 Spur.

Hmmm, interesting. I will watch for it next time. The map came from a campground in Deming, not made by me.

I-10 is still doable, but a massive construction project makes it very long and tedious. They also completely shut down the highway for hours during scheduled nights.

Will Never Ever go through El Paso again on any road. Has been a nightmare and the drivers are insane, almost as bad as in the Rio Grande Valley!! Will always route around it. Same with Atlanta, GA. Will travel around it, not through it.

That's funny. I wonder if there is any place that has good drivers? . I've always said TX and CA drivers are the worst, and you see them in every state you visit. So if you only have to avoid two cities to be rid of bad drivers, that's a good deal!!!!

I always went straight thru Dallas, Houston and ElPaso, it is what it is, also I don't drive at night with my 5er, always stop by 5pm. With over 5 million miles traveled a little traffic never intimidated me. I laugh at everyone who has never driven anything bigger than an SUV getting into a big class A or pulling a 40 ft 5er and complaining about traffic. and not being able to see what is behind them. only worry about what is in front of you.

The route that Cedar Creek and NMwildcat has is great. This really helped me out last fall. I was sweating DFW and El Paso. It saved me a lot of time and hassle rather than going I10 and the construction mess through EP. Thanks again guys.

Glad to have been of help! We avoid EP when we can, but taking the bypass sure is a lot less frustrating when we have to venture into that area.
