Routes to Grand Teton NP Colter Bay from Las Vegas

We will be taking a trip to Grand Teton NP Colter Bay (then Grizzly RV Park) coming up from the south through Las Vegas. What is the best route to Colter Bay. I15 through Idaho Falls or I80 to 16 to 30 to 89? or ?? We have a 32'TT towing it with a Suburban 1500 so steep grades are not our friend.

I would take I15 to 26 to 89 to 191. Do not take the shortcut over Teton Pass from Idaho Falls to Jackson.

I came down to I-80 the way you are planning on going up via I-80 to 16 the north. Not a bad route really. Going to be a fair pull out of SLC to the I-80/I-84 junction.

On up to Idaho Falls is good as well. But as Ibrjet mentioned go 26 - 89 - 191. Teton pass is way steep. Beautiful but STEEP.

If you need to overnight in the Idaho Falls area may I recommend the county owned park near Shelly. North Bingham Park

The 30 - 89 route is pretty good. You can avoid Parleys Summit out of Salt Lake City buy going to the northern suburb of Ogden and cutting over to I-84 and head back south to I-80. There is a long hill once you get back on I80. One pass on US 89 but is fairly short. 89 is the most scenic route to Yellowstone. If you are willing to do 2 more passes get on US 89 at Salt Lake and go through Logan, UT. There take the Logan Canyon to Bear Lake to Montpelier. You won't regret the views. That is my favorite route. As you pass under the Worlds Largest Elkhorn Arch in Afton, WY honk, I'll probably hear you.
