RVing to Alaska

Last summer Cindy and I towed our Rockwood 2109s to the Yukon and Alaska. It was an incredible 12,000 mile adventure. To help others who might be considering a similar journey we’ve started creating a 12-part video series; the first 7 are now live here:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...JrEuliIXjStBgr

We hope you enjoy them and find some of the information useful.

Happy camping.

Thank you for doing this! I too have a 2109s and have been "dreaming" of such a trip. It would be a true trip of a lifetime, especially pulling the camper with the Ranger but what an experience. I'll be sure to follow.

Thanks Jim, I’m glad you enjoyed them. And you’re very right, it is a trip of a lifetime. We had such an amazing time, learned so much and truly enjoyed the challenges this journey brought.

Alaska’s Best?

Alaska and the Yukon have so much to offer and do - from dog sledding on a glacier to flightseeing over North Americas highest peak. It really was an incredible journey. So in this episode we rate our favorite Destinations, Tours/Excursions, Campgrounds and Drives. Hope you enjoy.

Here in Alaska we love the tourists. Even though the greatest tourism months are just May through July, revenue makes up a solid 10% of our yearly economy. Keep on coming folks!

The Milepost is an AWESOME resource. If you do make it this summer at least fuel prices are down from 2022. Hope you have a great trip!

What Did It Co$t?

In our 12th episode we looked at the 5 biggest expenses associated with RVing to Alaska….hint, fuel was number 1 and if you guessed $6000+ for gas you get bonus points. We also look at some of the challenges an 11000+ mile road trip presents and reflect on the very few regrets we might have had when it was all over. Hope you enjoy!
