Salt Lake City in December

We are fixin' to spend a week in SLC for work.

The choices are;

1- flying + rental car + hotel room
2- towing the 30 ft travel trailer + dog + DH

I'm not concerned about driving to SLC, by questions revolve around parking our RV at Pony Express for a week in December. We have heated tanks. We have stayed at Pony Express RV park before. (yes we know the family sold the place)

1- Do we need to be worried about skirting?
2- Is this a generally nutty idea?

Suggestions, comments, and snarky remarks are welcomed.

I would tend to agree it's a nutty idea...weather would be unpredictable in Dec at that elevation...go with plan A.

We drove back from Chicago, in November, with our new HTT.
Driving thru Nebraska and Wyoming almost wrecked us.
Personally I advise choice #1.

I think we have a work-around.

The shop we are training is more than large enough to park our trailer inside with electric hook up. The Flying J is a 7 minute drive away if we need to dump our tanks unless the shop can accommodate.

Your Work Around sounds fine for once your there, but the roads for hundreds of miles around SLC can be treacherous in Dec. you donít want to be caught in a winter storm with snow, black ice etc and a TT behind you. 😳

While it would have been really nice to take a leisurely trip to SLC, enjoying the countryside along the way, we just don't have the time in our work schedule. Rushing a 21 hour drive is never fun.

SW had cheap direct flights + rental car for less than the fuel to drive there without the risk of black ice, getting snowed in a rest area for a few days, or skidding off the road to die a horrible death over the side of a mountain.
