Show Low — Pinetop-Lakeside — Pinetop

Information on Allstays is minimal for the Pinetop-Lakeside and Pinetop areas: anyone travel through this area? Recommendations about where to stay, where to eat? What to see?

we were just there a few weeks ago and stayed at the hon-dah casino rv park. this rv park has large spaces but it it totally oriented to people that leave their rv's there year round and come up in the summer to escape the phoenix heat. the park has over 500 spaces and they are putting in another 250. we stayed for a week so they have some sites for non-permanent transients.

there are many similar rv parks in the area that are designed for permanent or seasonal stays. a few years ago we were able to stay at a park called woodfield in show low but again, totally oriented to long term rentals.

there is also fools hollow state park that has rv spaces but i do not know about availability.

we really didn't go out for meals but the main highway has many restaurants of every type. i was not impressed with the restaurant in the casino itself.

hope you enjoy your stay. every time we go to show low we are impressed with how seemingly vibrant it is.

i forgot to mention what to see while in show low. we went to fort apache as it played a prominent role in arizona history and we had not been there before. well now we've seen it.

we also took a drive down to greer as we had not been there either. it was a very nice drive and greer is a nice little secluded mountain town.

We have one “must-see” attraction in Show Low… and thought we’d continue over to Pinetop. Looking at Allstays, we couldn’t find any information about hookups. Odd. Also odd: no ratings.

Meals: my girlfriend could work as a chef if she wanted to. Even those restaurants with Michelin ratings would be hard-pressed to compete with her.

Thanks for the response and info.
