In winter, the desert is the place. Summer is not dependable with the droughts, Covid and forest fire smoke. I am not focused on the other 3 seasons.

That's a beautiful picture and a great place for R&R. Thanks for sharing!

Hey i'm not a religious person but i would call that place heaven. No Neighbors, no cell phone service (not even a scam call), Don't even need a tree to >>>.
As long as you have plenty of water, coffee, and food.

We've never been to a place like that, but that is my idea of the perfect camping spot! So beautiful...

Now the daylight is coming back.
Darkness can be depressing in winter.
Fuel for a fire can be a challenge. A fire is a real luxury.
I like to sleep on a cot in the open except in really cold temperatures.

We boondock 98% of the time and can go 6 or 7 days before needing to resupply and empty tanks.

I don't. However, it depends on where you go. For example, there's chukkar where I've camped in Nevada and Idaho. And, of course, plenty of quail here in California. Although, there are a lot of coyotes in this particular spot.

We are actually using a propane fire pit connected to our low pressure propane fitting on our trailer. However, I do enjoy good old fashioned tent camping as well.

Same here and just recently returned from a month of camping. 0nly 6 of the 31 days in an RV park, 2 nites in each of three parks, only for Laundry, Grocery Shopping, and generally getting ready for the next stay in a desert somewhere in AZ or CA.

Many years ago we camped at Anzo Borrego. In a station wagon. Big ole sleeping bag for 2. Camping stove and lamp. Those were the days.

Reminds me of some great camping in the Desert. Here's November a few years back. Panamint valley, more places to explore than you have time for year after year.

We boondocked for the first time seriously in the blm area just north of Moab Utah. October.

The DW is now hooked. We spent about 2 weeks out of 8 not in rv parks last fall.

We have been leaning on Bombay Sapphire gin gimlets at 5:00 as the sun goes down lately.

Nice except it’s in CA. AZ desert would be better.

From an Ex-CA resident.
