Sonora pass

Has anyone towed over Sonora pass? I am thinking about going that way this summer. I have a light 20ft trailer towed by a full sized truck. I am very comfortable towing on mountain roads.

Sorona Grade has many warning signs about trucks and trailers due to the very narrow sharp corners and steep grades some as steep as 26%. I have met horse trailers coming down the grade where I had to stop and wait because the trailer required both lanes to make the tight curve. I would not pull a trailer over the grade and I go to Pincrest often. check this out

I have a Ram diesel 2500 HD with 27 foot tow trailer that weighs 7000 pounds. We went westward up the Sonora Pass last year without any issues.

The 25 degree grade is worrisome, but we didnít notice it.

If you are not comfortable with altitude, really tight curves and looking over the side of the road, I'd say choose another path. 108 is pretty, but can be a tough haul with an RV. But, if you are good with all that - go for it.

Piece of cake; have done it many times. Especially if you're comfortable driving mountain roads.
