Toll Road around Denver w/ toad =$49.95

Traversing South through the middle of Denver can be "interesting" at times, so we took the toll road around this summer... i started watching the signs and noted the tolls were basically triple with the extra two axles on the toad. So for those curious what it costs for 4 axles total to bypass Denver on the toll road, the answer is $49.95.

When we cross the border at Port Huron MI it is a different price each way, going into Canada they charge $3.00 for the TV and $3.00 for each axle on the trailer giving a total of $9.00, buy when you come the other way from Canada to the US they charge $3.00 per axle counting four axles for a total of $12.00, same bridge just a different direction and makes no sense.

Yeah I wasn't completely blind to it; I knew it wouldn't be cheap, I just hadn't done the math in advance. I do enjoy it it if i'm coming from the north and going to DIA, but I doubt I spend that $$ again just to bypass downtown. Was more of an FYI post for those considering it.

It's pricey but the alternative is exiting I70 at the mousetrap and heading south down the nightmare that is I25 through the Denver metro corridor. Pulling our 5er down that stretch anytime between 5am and 7pm is nerve wracking. Almost always complete stop and go traffic at 8mph during the day. Find a semi in the middle lane and stay on his tail, and do not try a lane change.
You gotta pay to play.

Not about Denver, but about 20 years ago I was towing our StarCraft popup. I pulled up to the toll booth on the road between Orlando and Melbourne, FL. I handed the lady the toll as stated on the sign for three axles. She said that wasn't enough. The toll for a car with a trailer was more than for three axles. I paid more toll for our minivan and popup than the loaded three axle dump truck beside us!
