Trip to Ruidoso, NM

Does anyone have suggestions for an RV park in the area of Ruidoso, NM?
The ones that I saw that looked good are Slow Play RV, Bonito and Along The River RV park.
We will be staying for 6 nights.
I am looking for more pad site room and quiet surroundings
We will be coming from Tyler, TX.
Has anybody driven this route? Is it a doable two day trip?

Definitely a doable 2 day trip. I have done Tyler to Las Cruces several times in my Dad's class C in one day (actually overnight) and it was not fun. Took a week to get over it
We like Bonito Hollow and Twin Spruce the best.
Bonito Hollow is definitely the quietest. Just a litttle bit farther out.
I don't think anything in Ruidoso area has extra large sites, but they are good enough for most RVs.

Have you checked out Ruidoso Motor Coach Ranch? It is fairly new and looks nice. Also in a quiet area. We have never stayed there as we don't own a Motor Home But we have driven through it just to check it out.

I’m in agreement with NMWildcat stayed in Twin Spruce over Christmas break one year upper section was closed. We really like Bonita in Alto . I would definitely take 20 south of Dallas much quicker less traffic. I live outside of Odessa and drive to Lake Wright Pattman almost every year to visit wife’s family. We do there and back in a day but they are long days

I stayed a week at Oliver Lee State Park in Alamogordo for $91... for the entire week... loved it and would not hesitate to stay there again! Water, electric and dump station, showers, visitor's center and hiking right in the park. GREAT views and sunsets!

Add on to our Ruidoso NM trip

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions for our Ruidoso NM trip.
We are now looking to travel up to Colorado area. Possible roads would either be through Moab, then I70 to Denver. Or straight up to Durango and Million Dollar Hwy through central Colorado, then make our way to Denver.
We have about two weeks to do this leaving Ruidoso.
Are there any suggestions, recommendations, or cautions?
Do we need to be concerned with snow?
And known step grades and sharp turns to be worried about?

Leaving Ruidoso Sept 15th.

We spend the month of September in Northern NM. While snow is probably possible at the higher elevations we have not encountered any in our 14 years of visiting there. In visits to Utah and Colorado in late September, we have seen some snow fall on the mountains overnight.

Going through Moab to get to Durango will add considerable miles to your trip.
If you have not spent much time in NM, there are a lot of places to visit and things to see. We like New Mexico State Parks. Most have at least some water and electric sites. The rate is reasonable at $14 per night. If you stay more than 23 nights in a year, the annual pass is worth buying. There are four Corps of Engineers Lakes in NM. Two have state park campgrounds and two have Corps managed campgrounds. There are also a number of Forest Service campgrounds in NM. In the Northern part of the state, several of these close after Labor Day.

Don't get me wrong, we loved our visits to Utah. There are many great places to visit. We have spent two months there and still not seen everything we had on our lists.
