OK... so the site team moved your thread from "Eastern USA" to "Western USA".

Up here in WA we're all waiting for this afternoon/evenings snow storm to dump up to 8" or more of snow on us. If you are in Bakersfield, heading for Oregon, be sure and carry chains. You could well need them once you are north of Redding. Depending on where in Oregon you're going, be prepared to need chains in one or two more higher "passes" on I-5. They're not really high but the road is steep and they can be nasty.

Since you don't have your RV info in your profile and you didn't post it, I have no idea how to answer.
And are you asking 101, instead of Highway 1?
What is your route, from Bakersfield to 101?

As far as snow, 101 rarely gets snow, in Oregon.

I am outside of Bend, off of US 97. It is snowing now, and there is a winter storm warning in effect. Supposedly, there is going to be a bout 4 inches of snow, which is not much for a storm warning. If you are coming up I%, you should be concerned about the area just not of Redding, approaching Lake Shasta. After that, Dunsmuir are can get really bad and then there is the section going over the pass from Yreka to Ashland, Or. Any of these can be severe enough to shut down the freeway for hours to days (as has happened in the past). Best bet is to take a real hard look at the forecast. Coming up the coast may be a bit slower, but weather may not be as bad.
