West Yellowstone South on 191 - RV Trip Wizard question

I am using RV Trip Wizard planning our trip from California to Iowa. Heading up to Yellowstone and am trying to get RV Trip Wizard to route me down 191 to 26 but it won't let me.

I have a 2019 Forest River FR3 33DS and will be towing a Buick Envision. Total Length about 45' or so.

I remember driving that route in August of 2018 but was using a small Buick Encore driving my daughter back to school.

I don't remember any issues with the road so I'm not sure why RV Trip Wizard won't route me that way.

Any thoughts on why it won't route me or known issues with 191 through Yellowstone with my size rig..??

Thanks

David

do a quick google search for length restrictions along the route that may be the reason this is just a guess on my part.

I'm not familiar with RV Trip Wizard but I know some software has a setting that avoids "toll roads." Since you have to pay to enter Yellowstone, most trip software considers that as a toll road. You might check and see if your Trip Wizard is avoiding tolls. Just a thought.

I'm having the same issue with RV Parky, a very good planning software, and from what I can figure out is that roads are closed this time of year in Yellowstone. I cannot find any lenght or height restrictions on any of the major roads thru Yellowstone. Many RVs go from West Yellowstone to Cody every day. Just know the roads are there and check to see id there open when you want to go thru.

It may be using current road conditions. 292 is closed until April.

There are no issues, width or height with that route. I have taken it and my rig is almost 60' overall with a 13'6" height. As others have pointed out 191 through Yellowstone is closed until spring so most routing software will take you around it.

As long as 191 is open to traffic, no problem with a large rig. Expect to see some snow even in Summer at the crest.

RV Parky trip

Try adding a stop inside Yellowstone and see if this will pull the route .
Late September of 2019 trip. Yellowstone, Tetons and Grand Canyon. Lots of hills, Buffalo, Elk, Moose.

Don't sweat it. All those roads are fine.
Been on them in my motorhome plus car.

This is the route I see.

West Yellowstone South on 191 - RV Trip Wizard question

Bring up your map, highlight the route in question and use the drag function located in the upper left of the screen. You will be able to drag that leg to the route you want.
Everyone is correct, the 191 is a beautiful route. We took it last year in our 32’ class C with toad and it was beautiful in the early morning. Easy drive. Hope this helps.

I found out what the problem was. I kept looking at my default settings and not my trip settings. I found that I had RV routing and not Standard Routing turned on. Once I changed it to Standard, then I could route through Yellowstone.

All is now good with my trip. Can't wait to leave on July 15th..!!!
