Westerly Travels

We've been planning/booking sites for our 2022 summer trip (from MI to Olympic NP......oof).

Planning to stop at My Ranier. Wondering how long people have stayed and if they wanted more or less time, etc.

We have 2 kids, one of which is 4. So, we're not doing any big huge hikes or anything (she's our excuse, I'm also in crummy shape...haha).

From my perspective, Mt Rainier is better seen from afar. It is a scenic drive through the park and the Paradise Lidge is a great stop. On the NW side outside the park at Mineral, there is a railroad museum with rides on a steam train that the kids will enjoy.

Also in the area near Eatonville is NW Trek Wildlife Park operated by the City of Tacoma. You ride through the park on a tram car. We have stayed at the Taidnapam campground several times. There is also a Tacoma Piwer campground at Alder Lake, which we would like to try.

There is lots to see and do on the Olympic Penninsula as well. Another animal adventure for the kids is the Olympic Game Farm near Sequim. It was started with animals used in movies and commercials, but I don't know what they currently have. You can drive your vehicle through the fields to see the wind animals.
