Zion

Looking at some options for a trip to Zion. Has anyone taken Hwy 9 from Mt Carmel Junction over to Zion? Looks like its doable on RV Trip planner, but the road does look a little squirrely. We've got a 40ft 5th wheel.

Don't think that is route is good for a 5th wheel - there is a tunnel with height restrictions and it does get pretty tight on the hairpin turns. I have only seen class Cs on it, nothing too big - and at the tunnel, the rangers have to stop traffic so the Class C can go down the center.

I would check the park website for instructions about that tunnel.

The bigger issue is the tunnel from that entrance, I’m sure you won’t fit under it.
We were jut there in May and stayed in Glendale and drove our TV.

We were there in September and stayed in Glendale also. Used it as a base to visit Zion and Bryce. We used our tow vehicle due to the tunnel issue and parking availability.

vehicles taller than 13'1" or with a combined length greater 50' are prohibited in the tunnel.

Chickdoe has the correct information. Check the Zion NP newspaper on their web site.
