08 georgetown door latch

Door latch busted this past weekend. Two people had to get out by crawling out the front passenger window onto a ladder. Was not fun, but we were camped and eventually got the door open with a drill motor from inside. The original (busted) latch is a Trimark with no model # to be found. Anyone have an experience like this or replacement mfg's latch they used. All help will be greatly appreciated. We have an Georgetown 33SE.

Just went through it myself. If yours is the same as mine you remove three screws that hold the inside handle assembly on. Remove it and there should be numbers stamped on the silver plate on the latch mechanism. I bought a new one and it broke two days later. Tri Mark sent me a replacement. Be sure to get the right one. There is one for doors with screen doors and one without screen doors. The difference is the inside lock handles however the inside handle mechanism is interchangeable so if you have to buy the one meant for no screen door you can put your old inside handle on the new latch mechanism

Trimark is junk. Check out H.E. Baur for your new door latch.

I replaced 3 door latches since 2015. All 3 were Trimark. The Baur sets are much better.

The Baurs are about $75.00, the Trimarks are $245.00.

Yup

Same thing, just repaired mine, a small plastic part broke but I am still able to use the lock. I will replace with a new lock before I have to crawl out the window...

Door latch

This seems more common than I first thought. Having a fellow camper w/ladder is key. My broken latch feels heavy duty till it is opened up, then the
internal plastic parts show up. Thanks for all the replies.

here is an alternative to a new latch if this is your model.
https://www.latchfix.com/

It is an excellent kit.
