2 problems 2007 Georgetown XL

I just purchased a 2007 Georgetown XL 378. I have two major issues. The first is that when put into park, I cannot shift out of park, unless I turn the engine off.
The second is that the coach list to the passenger side 2-3 inches.
Both are a royal pain.
Any ideas, thanks.

Your first problem I would talk to Ford. Your second I would talk to Ford since I had the same problem on a new XL coach and they replace the right rear spring-leaf. Solved problem two.

Make sure you have Brake lights when the brake pedal is applied, there is a small solenoid on the column that allows the gear selector to be pulled from park when the brake pedal is pushed, if you have brake lights, I would say the brake switch is ok and it could be the solenoid itself on the column. Check fuses....

Were you stepping on the brake? Not trying to be smart.

Not exactly sure what your asking? Your supposed to push on the brake pedal to get gear selector out of park if the key-is on, OP stated he can get selector out of park of ignition is off.... So I was just trying to confirm if he has brake lights, that would help eliminate brake pedal switch etc.... Process of diagnosis...

This isn't my issue, I was merely trying to help someone that is having an issue.... But thanks for the helpful insight!

I haven't had a chance yet, but will do so soon.
I appreciate every ones comments. That is the good part of a forum.

I'm really more concerned about the passenger side being 2-3 inches lower than the driver side.

Again, thanks, all.

I believe the rear suspension has a spacer under the left rear spring that raises that side higher. It was installed for another application but was never taken out for this application. I have a 2007 373ds and it leans to the pass. side. I am planning on removing it this spring.

I have had a few Fords over the years have issues with the park override switch (or something called like it) that keeps the vehicle in park unless the brake is pressed. Needed to put it into neutral then start because it did not require the brake to be pressed to start then shift into drive. I still pressed the brake but the vehicle's would at least get me going.

I stated the same thing in his other thread that he started.....he will most likely have a 2 inch spacer in the left rear spring....I am finding Forest River to be less than helpful when you question them about anything. I asked about this issue and their wonderful sidewall separation fiasco....no response
