2012 Georgetown 280ds slide leaking?

Ok so I’m going to try and explain this as best I can without pics because I’m not able to get to the coach today but over the weekend we went by the motorhome to start the generator and check on things and when I ran the big slide out I noticed the carpet under the rear most corner of the slide was damp, the carpet on the slide itself was dry as was the cushions on the dinette which is on that end of the slide.. it seems like water may be finding its way in under the slide but I’m not sure how.

The slide was pulled in tight and I always level the coach before opening and closing the slides, we’ve only had this rv about 5 months and when we first got it after the first rain I noticed a small amount of water coming in up in the cabinet that’s above the dinett on that slide while the slide was out and I found that the top L shaped trim that goes along the top edges of the slide wasn’t sealed with anything from the factory so I sealed it and that seamed to stop that leak but now this leak has showed up!

Has anyone had this happen with their slides or know where I should be looking, I’m thinking maybe the seal that mates up to the side of the coach when the slide is pulled in but I’m not seeing any cuts in it or anything in it. The only thing I noticed with that seal is that it doesn’t rebound to its original shape when I run the slide out and it remains squished flat so I’m going to go ahead and replace it.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That seal may be the problem having lost all it elasticity. when a slide is adjusted properly you should have somewhere around a min of 50% compression of the seal, with the said it should not be squashed flat. Also check the seals between the coach and the slide on the sides and top. let the forum know what you find.

I definitely will! When you say the seals on the top and sides of the slides are you referring to the wiper seals that drag across the slide as it goes in and out? If so they did look good but I did have that seal on that end pop out of its track when we first got it which was a joy to get back in I might add! The whole seal didn’t pop out just about a 3-4in stretch of it but it is back in now and they look good! I will note the 50% compression though when I install the new seal! Thanks!
