364TS...thanks

Thanks for all the input here, we ended up buying a 364 and will pick up next week. We added the washer and dryer as well based on feedback here. Family is excited, our first motorhome! Special thanks to Aquaman for pointing me to a motivated dealer!

Would it be rude to ask what you paid?

My guess would be around 31-32% off MSRP.

Just trying to see if I got hosed. I paid 100K USD for a fully loaded 364 TSF without washer/dryer or double pane windows.

I got almost what I paid for my trades.

best way to put it is the beat RV direct on price and also beat them by giving me fair value on truck I traded in.

I forgot to clarify that I also got full body paint. That's what the 'F' in 364 TSF stands for, if anybody looking at getting a GT is following this thread.

The problem with MSRP is that identically equipped units from the same year will have different MSRPs! Sometimes significantly so, wonder what gives.

The car industry, in pricing and finish, this is not!

Best part is now other dealer who I visited and low balled me bad on my truck is whining I didn't give him a shot...when I asked you for best numbers and they were terrible that was your shot no 1....when I told you what I was going to pay and you did nothing that was shot 2.

I do feel bad for my local dealer as the sales person was great and super helpful, really wanted to buy from him but for the difference I couldn't not make the trip. I don't understand why they don't believe you and why they think they can command such a premium.

Also...ford truck pricing changes too for the same options....last time I was truck shopping comparing 2 at the dealership I couldn't get the numbers to make sense...one base price for identical truck built at different time was 1,700 off the other one. Made no sense

I know most people here love to deride RV sales people, and maybe they have a right to. I certainly have had my share of bad sales people but the last 2 were amazing.

While in Florida at Daytona beach, I went to the RV show. It wasn't really a show, but more of an RV One Super Store show.

I had NO INTENTION of buying a motorhome but was really sick of the whole TT experience. I loved my trailer and camping, it was just a hassle for a bunch of reasons, not the least of which was a family of 5 and the long distance towing experience.

As expected I looked around and was not remotely drawn to any thing until I spoke to Stephen. He patiently answered questions and more importantly, listened to my answers.

After 2 vehicles he finally said, I have just the thing. He pulled us into a 2016 GT 351DS and began showing us around. We immediately knew it was for us and gave a deposit. For reasons owing to us being Canadian and discovering the 364 TSF, we ultimately decided against the unit.

If it weren't for Stephen, we would not have a motorhome today. I felt really bad about cancelling so I sent him a $100 Amazon gift card to recognize that HIS particular time was worth something to me.

He was a little surprised and I know a lot of members will think it's his job, them's the breaks, etc. but I believe it was the right thing to do.

It sounds like a lot in common...4 kids in a crew cab pulling a 35 foot trailer made it more work than fun...thus the MH for us. Wife is a clean freak and health nut so makes sense on many levels. Also no more per fees for hotels when traveling with our German Shepherd.

Funny you mentioned the gift card...wife and I were going to send one to the sales person as well but I like your Amazon idea....will do that.

A couple years ago on spring break I was going to take the truck and 5er to WDW and the girls were going to fly down. Once the girls knew I was going down empty, they quickly invited friends and filled my truck again. So It was I, 3 teenage girls in the truck along with all their "accessories", and my wife and youngest flew down. That my friends was a long trip from OH to FL and back! Sleeping space will be the issue now, but the older girls are out of the house now, so I don't see them going with us nearly as much.

I got it from http://rvcanadaottawa.ca in Ottawa.

Not sure where you are so don't know if this is useful or not.

I dealt with Rob and Abdel. Abdel is the sales manager and knows his stuff backwards. They also gave trades that were 5K higher than my local dealer. Start with Rob but prepared for Abdel to jump in.

I had an exceptional experience but I am also extremely suspicious and proactive. Their service department is beyond exceptional and well organized. I had several minor issues that were fully taken care of in a timely manner.

One word of advice, know your stuff and never let yourself be pressured and hold your ground.

Feel free to PM me your number if you want to discuss.

Cheers!
