364TS Water Heater Bypass Valve

When I de-winterized our 364TS this week, I must have done something wrong with the water heater. For some reason, we have hot water for about 2 minutes in the shower but then it goes to lukewarm water.

My guess is that somehow I have the valves turned the wrong way on the water heater. Has anyone experience this problem? Can anyone offer any advice on how all of the various valves leading to the water heater should be set?

Turbs and Ford Idaho got you "turned" in the right direction.

There is another schematic with a full explanation of the crossover valve at this sticky link below:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...st-103381.html

Not sure if you have a plumbing station (which is different than most TT's) on your motorhome, which should have a schematic for how the valves position should be.

Thanks, the diagrams are a big help.

I actually now have it pointed in the direction of the earlier diagrams. And still no hot water. Does that mean I have damaged the element?

You stated you had hot water, but not for long in your previous post. If you no longer have hot water at all, then you may still have the valve(s) wrong.

Anyway you can post a pic of how you have the valves, so we can check for sure?

Your comment "hot water for about 2 minutes" implies to me the heating element is still working OR you are heating with the propane side. A ruined element will not produce hot water for 2 minutes.

When I had this problem I had the supply to the water heater, the exit and the by pass all open so cold water was mixing with hot via the by pass valve. When I shut the by pass valve as per the first 2 diagrams everything was fine. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Tubs and Ford, WOW, thanks so much for this. I have been trying to figure out what my 'no hot water' problem was. Called the dealership and they turn on the valves to let in the cold water and the valve to let it out! A new trailer that was winterized by the dealer and this is my first time. The diagram really helps. I'm sure I'll have hot water for tonights first shower! many thanks. I had made an appointment after our camping trip tomorrow to take it into the dealer to see what the issue was.

Ford, I'm in Nampa camping at 1000 Springs close to Hagerman. Our maiden run with our new TT. It all went well accept for no hot water. Now I'm almost there as soon as I turn on the water valves.

Yep, hot water is plentiful now after turning off the bypass valve at the hot water heater. It was on which mixed cold with the hot water. I'll enjoy my first hot shower tonight in our new TT. Thanks everyone for your help.
