378 xl bedroom slide seal replacement

Finally have something to do. The other day I noticed that the "wiper" portion of the left hand seal on the bedroom slide has started to crack and seperate. I looked and really didn't see a way to access and replace that was obvious. I did a search on the forum and really didn't see anything specific.
Does anyone have experience changing one? Is it something I should be able to tackle?

Both our slides wiper seals are splitting. Dealer wanted $400 to replace them. Looks pretty simple to replace by removing old seal from track and inserting new one. We are going to try the adhesive kind first and see if it lasts. $79 for 40’ from Amazon. If not will try the original. Only 2 years old and failing even though it was treated several times with sealant spray to protect.

Ours are 6-7 years old. All of the other seals are fine, no cracking at all, just this one and it basically came apart at the wiper.
I'm going to go out to the motorhome this afternoon and run the slide out a little, take some measurements and see if I can't figure out how they are installed. I THINK they are pressed into a track which would be great because I don't see any way to remove trim to access them if not. Stay tuned...

It looks pretty simple. I watch some you tube videos but you know sometimes simple goes sideways. Good luck.

Well, I went out to the motorhome and opened the bedroom slide a few inches to take a look. It appears that either FR didn't install the seal the way it was designed or they intended it this way. The seal clearly is designed to "push" on to a flange. Ours is not on the flange but has the flange wedged between the bulb seal and hard U shape you would push on the flange. It's never leaked so I guess no harm no foul.
Clearly though it is not a track style, so now find a seal/wiper that will fit on the flange and not hinder the slide.

Now that the holidays are over and things have settled down, I'm going to replace the bedroom slide seal. I picked up a new one from RECPRO and frankly shouldn't take 30 minutes.
We also picked up a Roadmaster Even Brake 9400. So that install will take place at the same time. We have been using an NSA receiver style for about 4 years. Only real complaints with the receiver style are that it sets the TOAD back a bit from the receiver, and since we have to "drop" our receiver to get the proper tow angle, the combination of everything really sets it back, and to get the cable adjusted to apply the brakes it will also apply them when hitting any good undulation on the highway, brakes applied or not. Anyway, hope to accomplish everything as soon as the Even Brake shows up Tuesday. I'll be sure to take a few pics...

We have a 2019 360DS XL and all our wipe seals have tore off. Forest River says no recall but 1-1/2 year life is not good. We are in Florida now and will remove and figure out what I need. Looks like they remove from inside coach.

Managed to get the seal replaced on our bedroom slide yesterday. What I thought was going to be a 30-minute job turned out to be about an hour and a half and I only replaced the lefthand side.
Removal was simple enough, just started at the bottom and began pulling outwards from the flange. Installation on the other hand was a bit harder. While not difficult from a mechanical point of view as it just presses onto the flange between the two beads of the seal, access, alignment, and PITA factor were present! Ultimately, once I figured out a plan on how to keep the seal from twisting and to work my fingers behind the wiper portion, along with a bit of WD40 for lube, it went fairly well. I probably spent half an hour on the first 6 inches until I figured out the plan. After that it went pretty quick.
Basically, I ended up starting at the bottom and working my way up. I eventually ran a bit of WD40 along the joint of the seal that pressed over the flange, along with a bit on the flange. Then, getting my fingers behind the wiper portion pressed the seal onto the flange. Sounds simple right? With a lot of twisting and pushing it is.
It is certainly an "owner doable" maintenance item.
I ordered a 10' section and received about 12' and it was less than $60 delivered.
Forgive the orientation of the pictures, too lazy to adjust.
Today I'm installing a Roadmaster 9400 braking system in our Lincoln MKZ. (toad) I'm sure that's going to be even less fun...
