5th wheel to 2012 Georgetown XL 378TS

Well all I can say is the papers are signed and will pickup on Monday 4/19/12.
I have been around the rig for almost 2 days and took it for a drive and I was very happy. It will be a big change from a PU and 5th wheel.

It has almost all options.
Fireplace, 40"TV, washer/dryer, full size 4 door refrigerator with ice, dual pane windows, artic pack, (2) AC, Diamond shield in front, the new 4 layers of clear coat. The only thing we don' have is the convection oven
Here is the link to dealer if you want to see pictures. LINK

McMahon RV in Mesa AZ is a good dealer. I actually picked up the rig for less than $100,000 with MSRP of $140,000. Cliff the sales manager did a great job and added/installed a vented washer dryer combo for half the cost and was only $750 installed.

So what do I need to know about this rig?

exact model we were looking at, the best price from rv direct was 109,000 so I think you did great! We moved up from a 36' 5th wheel to a 36' super c, much easier than driving the 5th wheel, but I miss all the room.

Wow Iggy, that is a beautiful rig, congrats on the purchase. It sounds like you got a great deal on it. What brought on the purchase of a motorhome? I thought you were very happy with the fifth wheel. I guess your income tax refund was really BIG this year.

We got the midnight color. They had one like yours but my DW didn't like the condition inside. The one we got is called midnight color. Oh well.
We will be in Yellowston in the Grizzly Campground Sunday July - the 5th

Hey Iggy, I don't know if it is the new purchase but the smile on your profile picture looks a little wider! Congratulations!

Thanks. Yes, I'm actually very happy.
Did you know the new Georgetowns have the higher ceiling. It make a big difference.
I forgot to mention that the dealership got me a killer loan rate for 240 months at 3.99%. My local bank said 120 months at 5.34% is the best they can do.

Congrats!

Te first thing you'll notice is the much more panoramic view going down the road, but the greatest thing you'll find is that you're on vacation from the second you pull out of your driveway!

For some reason that happens! Gotta love it.

Mine does not have one, it was not offered when we ordered. I have to plug the electric into the generator. Works ok.

I put mine in myself, but there is only one place they could put it and that's the driver's side rear compartment where the electric hookup cord and the converter are.

Is it inside the big black box mounted on the wall?

I don't know why they don't just put a real price on these units. I think they might sale a lot more. Let me think about it should I look at an RV priced at $140,000 or look around for one that is only $100,000. They would have lost my interest.

Oh well, I was never very good at psychology.

Congrats and enjoy!

Thx
Yes it took a little psychology. I actually wanted to pass at the original price they gave and said it is a 2012 and the 2013's are here now so I lost already. The next day they called and took off $10k plus only charging me $750 for the washer/dryer combo.
Trust me I was lucky. The next folks will make up any loss.
